Today I began efforts to get Green UMSL! off the ground from a simple Facebook group to an actual entity on UMSL's campus.
My plan so far:
1. I emailed the Student Government Association, the Food Services, and the Residential Life Committees. In the emails, I asked what their plans are already, offered our organization as a way to assist future sustainability projects and thanked them for their time.
2. In order to contact Transportation, I need to call them, which I hope to do soon.
3. I would like to apply to be recognized as an organization on campus. In order to do this, we need at least 15 members, which I hope to get fairly quickly. I'm not looking for a budget or anything--if Green UMSL! could simply be a "broker" of sorts that helps organizations to see how they can reduce their carbon footprint, I would be happy.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Abi
